Hi all,
I'm new here but reasonably familiar with forum etiquette, so thanks for baring with me. I've tried searching the forums for what I am looking for prior to creating a post as I know what I want is probably already out there, but I'm afraid I'm just unfamiliar with the jargon and don't know exactly how to phrase it. LOL.
Anyway, I appreciate any advice you can provide.
First, I am looking for a fairly easy to use solution for my Dad to back up and copy his DVD movies. My dad is barely literate with a computer and struggles with basic word processing, so while I know decrypters, vobblankers, encoders, etc are the best way to do it, I am trying to find a solution for him that is easy to use, straight forward, and works with the most DVDs it can. I understand not everything will always work, but is there something that is pretty good for newbies?
Second, all of this is a little overwhelming. I'm a bit more tech savvy than my father, but this is still new ground to me. What's the best solution or set of solutions to rip DVDs, extract the audio as MP3s, and create new DVDs from either ripped dvds or various video files? I read the recommended apps to get started but a lot of that seems to be more than I need.
Thanks for whatever help you want to provide!
