Take the finished DVD out and copy the files to your hard drive.
Then use VobBlanker to cut the boring commercials out. Guide on the site.

This is the method I use when removing commercials on my ILO DVDRHD04
DVD recorder with a built-in hard drive.
1. If watching the movie while recording to the hard drive, use the pause button when the commercials starts and record button when the commercial ends.
2. If not watching the movie then record to the hard drive and then go back to the movie and create start and end points where the commercial is located and remove them.
3. Then after you have removed all the commercials record the movie to a DVD+R disk.
