How do I edit scenes out of a movie

Hi there,

Say I have a film with swearing scenes in it that I want to edit so that my kids can watch it - is there a good (and simple) programme I can use to do this?

did anyone ever respond to that question about removing scenes? I would like to do this and I've gotten as far as being able to edit with dvd shrink but I can't reburn this to a disc that will play on my dvd player.

If there's swearing scenes it makes you wonder if the rest of the movie's contents are really appropriate for kids? Just commenting.

I, too, have a video with a little part I need to cut out, so I can share it with younger children. I was wondering if there might be yet another program that may also include basic editing features such as fades, swipes, speeding up replay, adding audio to existing video, etc.

There are plenty. I find Ulead Video Studio very easy and useful.

Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD or VideoReDo Plus. (Not sure if the latest can do fades.) However, both are unable to keep the original menus. You have to reauthor a new DVD.

IMO, VobBlanker is sufficient, easier, and you can keep the original authoring unmodified, but you can't do fades.

Yeah, well, I'm having a time figuring out VobBlanker. Apparently, the part I need to remove extends from one cell to the next, and the program is up in arms over that. Don't quite know what to do.

Cut from the start of where you wanna cut to the end of the cell 1 and apply. In cell 2, cut from the start to where you want the cut to end and apply.
