Remove a single stream of an audio track

Hi, anyone knows how to remove a stream inside an audio track ?
I'll try to be clear: see this image (taken from DVD Remake):

Italian, AC3-6ch contains 2 audio tracks streams, one of which is actually english, if I try to disable the track, both of them disappear, and if I save them both, a lot of disk space is wasted...
Are there any program to delete or separate the two streams?

Looks like the disk is authored badly - strangely, anyhow.

Load the DVD in PgcEdit and double click on the PGC. Change the audio to 0 in stream 0 and 1 in stream 1 and save.

You should be able to get rid of it then.

Thanks, I've loaded the dvd into PgcEdit and the movie PGC audio streams seems to be correct:


(BTW, the movie is Superman Returns R2, and the same problems happens with Harry Potter 5 R2)

Are there any other PGCs in that domain with, for example,

0
0

If so, stream 1 would also contain 0x80.

The solution would be to remove that PGC, unless it is used for some sort of branching, or adjusting the audio tracks within that PGC.

Anyway, the DVDRMP screen looks incorrect. What version are you using? Have you tried stripping with VobBlanker or even DVD Shrink? Might be easier.

I'm not very familiar with PcgEdit, so I show you the entire screen:


I'm using DVD remake v3.41 and I've used the internal ripper of AnyDVD to copy the DVD to the hard disk.
Now I will try with VobBlanker

Right. Two things:

1. Update DVDRMP - you are many versions behind (like 18 months). The latest is 3.6.2
2. Check out TTN 2. I don't suppose it is audio 0 for both streams?

So, I've finally update DVDRemake Pro to version 3.6.3, yesterday I've tried with the movie 300 (R2) and here again the same situation

If I tried to hide the english track the final size of the DVD doesn't change, and if I play the dvd in a player I can select that language...
So the fault is not of the old DVDRemake, could it be a bug of that software?

It is not a bug. There must be a first audio stream that is assigned to track 1 position in some PGC, as shown in post #4. The screenshot is from the VTS domain, look at the PGC level to confirm.

Can I solve this issue using DVDRemake alone? It's already a bit expensive and I would'nt like to use multiple programs for a single purpose...

yeah, just disable the unwanted stream at the PGC level.

Hi, sorry to bump this old thread, but this problem (that I never really solved...) rise again with the first disc of LOTR: The Return of the King EE (with the 4 commentary audio tracks)

Could somebody write a mini-tutorial on what exactly I have to do in order to fix the audio streams structure using only Dvd Remake Pro (if it is possible)?

To remove the comments tracks, right click on track 3 and "Delete tracks from selected". This will eliminate tracks 3-6 (the 4 comments tracks).

If you only want to keep the first track (Italian AC3), right click on track 2 instead and select delete tracks from selected.

Do try reading the very good DVDRMP manual.

I want to keep all the commentary tracks, but looking at the DVD Remake panel it seems that I lose 338MB of space for nothing: the 1st commentary track embed all the four, and the 2nd-3rd-4th are repeated, am I making wrong assumptions?

No, they are the same stream (i.e. the same bits and bytes in the VOB), just identified differently in each PGC. The streams are repeated in different PGCs probably (but this adds no space to the DVD). If you wanna keep them, do nothing. Getting rid of tracks 4-6 will do nothing (well, it will make certain PGCs not be able to play those tracks but will save no space), as there is one or more other PGCs that have all the comments tracks in them.
