Burning existing VOB files onto a DVD-R

    Hi

I am in the progress of compiling a DVD-R with only DD5.1, DTS and THX trailers ( Tex, Cimarron, Train etc. ). I have extracted the full VOB files for each trailer to my hard drive ( altogether about 650 MB ) which contains the video and multi-channel sound information.

I have Instant CD/DVD, Sonic MyDVD and ULEAD DVD Movie Factory, but neither will accept single VOB files as input.

Which DVD authoring software DOES allow for me to import VOB files and turns them into a complete DVD structure I can burn on my DVD-R ?!

    Thanks

    Sven

PS : Is there an alternative, like transcoding the files to MPG2 and using extracted AC3 sound ? I"ve tried this with DVD2AVI, but I only get a downmix in Dolby Surround. I'd like to keep the full sound stream though .....

Sadly the authoring software that gets distributed with DVD burners are very lame at best.

    They are very limited.

Software capable of multiple VOB input, multiple menu options & 5.1 AC3 is VERY expensive (eg. Scenarist,Maestro,DVDMotion,GearDVD Pro etc.).

An easy way, if you dont want a menu & the VOB's play one after the other, is to rename each VOB (vts_01_1...vts_01_2...etc).

Then use IFOEdit to create new .ifo files, then burn to DVD with InstantCD+DVD.

This is compromize...but your 5.1 audio will be intact.

      Hey !

Thanks, good idea ! I have found a trial version of SPRUCE UP on the Internet, that also takes AC3 sound and DVD compatible MPG2 video. I'll try around with that before I do anything more .....

Thanks a lot for your tips

Any chance of sending or posting the URL for that trial version?

        Thanks.
