Setting 1st play in PGCEdit

Uh-oh.

This time it's not asking me that. But the commentary button still works.

In PGC editor it still looks like this:

Audio VOB's Streams

0 0 [Used for English]
1 None [Used as for Commentary]
2 None [Not in use]
3 None [Not in use]
4 4 [Not in use but I put the commetary tag to it]

How can I tell if the commentary is really x81 or x84 at the moment?

You have to set stream 0x84 in position 1 too.
And it might even be preferable to fill the other tracks with a valid stream:

0 0 [Used for English]
1 4 [Used as for Commentary]
2 0 [Not in use, English]
3 0 [Not in use, English]
4 4 [Not in use but I put the commetary tag to it]
Of course, if you prefer, you can assign the commentary to streams 2 and 3.

In DSA, fill out all streams too. They must match what you did in the PGC Editor.

The commentary stream is still 0x84, unless you demux and remux the VOBs. The trick is to duplicate it in the IFOs, so that it is easily accessible with the remote. It is also important to fill the gaps, as some players refuse to play the tracks preceded by a gap.

You might want to hide the menu buttons leading to tracks 1-3, as they point now to another language.


A totally different, more clean but also more difficult solution is to modify the SetSTN command of the commentary button so that it selects stream 1 instead of stream 4. (Not sure you did that already.) Then, when you are sure that stream 1 is really selected when you use that menu button, you can disable streams 2 to 4, and go to DSA to remove them from the list.

Commentary link works but I'm back at here in PGCEditor:

Remember there are only 2 tracks for the movie (as shown in DSA).
I can't tag "commentary" on track 4 because it's not in use.

Also when I right click & go to Navigate > Audio, there's no node (a circle) next to commentary. You know what I meant, right?

I think the big question is what's GPRM & how can I work out the right GPRM to active the commentary?

Stream 1 should be set to 4 as it is 0x84 in the VOBs. You can also set stream 4 to 4 if you like.



In the Domain Stream Attributes (Ctrl-a), fill in Stream 1 as English, Director's Comments.

I did follow those 2 shots but it's the same.

Maybe it's something else like GPRMs. I can post some screenshots / commands, just say which parts.

I'm not sure what you mean by fill in Audio 4 as 4 and label it as for audio 1.

So I did 2 screenshots here.

One is the current position of PGCEditor & other is the DSA.

When I go to DSA I get that pop up question so I said NO at the moment then I get the DSA in the screenshot.

Any other screenshots or commands I can post to help me?

Answer yes and set it to English Director's Comments. Chances are the comments track is selected via this stream number.

The only other thing to do is to examine where the stream selection is and change anything that references stream 4 - direct and indirect - to stream 1. This includes the buttons.

I bet you did a logical remapping of enabled streams! Don't use it - at least without checking via the DVDS plugin.
