Looking for a decent program to boost/fade audio from VOBs/AC3 streams

Can anyone recommend a good program to do fades and audio boosts to parts of a movie/AC3 stream?

For example, fading the credits, boosting quiet parts of the audio.

Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD can do that (without reencoding the unmodified parts of the streams) but it has several important limitations, and can't work on a finished DVD. Also, it is expensive, and I hate its GUI.

Aaah. Thanks r0lZ. I have the AC3 plugin for Ner0 Wave Editor, but it is just a front end for ffmpeg, whose quality isn't up to snuff.

I am thinking there must be an AVISynth script that can do the job - perhaps Fade.

It is certainly possible to do that with avisynth, yes, but you have to reencode and reauthor. And I'm not sure it can handle the AC3 streams.

There is also an AC3/DTS plugin for CoolEdit Pro/Adobe Audition, but I'm not sure it is better than ffmpeg.

Or you may open the ac3 in Goldwave. Apply the necessary changes(fade,boost etc.).Save as wav.Then convert the wav to ac3 with Besweet.

Hi pagla.

I did some conversions to wav and could do the fades on the waves without any sound degradation. It was in the reconverting back with BeSweet that the sound sounded bad.
