    mpeg2 to dvd

    hi

i have converted a mpeg4 to mpeg2 (2.7gb file size)to burn on a dvdr. i'm using nero the latest version and my question is how do i get it on so that my set top dvd player can play it.

at the moment when i try to drop the mpg file into the dvd-video window it says that the file is lager than 2gb and cant be stored in a iso file system. do i have to cut the movie up into 2 parts, i f i do how do i tell the dvd player which to play first and will the second part play after first part has finished.

    thx

You should be using the UDF file system instead of ISO. Try the other template.

(Since when did Nero support burning video DVDs? I thought it could only burn data DVDs.)

      DVD-Video uses an IFO/UDF format & a maximum file size of 1Gb.

You need ReMPEG2 to trancode your MPEG2 video to a .VOB file.

Then you need IFOEdit to split the file (you'll end up with 2@1GB and 1@ approx. 700Mb) & generate the necessary .ifo files.

Then use NERO v.5.5.8.2 (the lastest downloadable version) and drag your VOB's & IFO's into the VIDEO_TS folder on the DVD-Video template).

It should play on any compatable stand-alone player.
