I have finally managed to get Prassi Primo DVD working fine when authoring a DVD. HOWEVER, some dual layer DVDs cause Smartripper, et al to choke.
So I now just capture the DVD video with my ATI AIW Radeon Card at 352x480 (my P3 1GHZ cannot manage a 704x480 without excessive dropped frames) and then burn the MPG as a data file to a DVD using Prassi. The resulting DVD MUST be played in a computer, butthe video quality is excellent. THis works great for any file less than 4 GB...
THE PROBLEM, is that even though I am using W2K with NTFS, Primo DVD will NOT let me write a data file greater than 4GB! It will burn a DVD (IFO, Vob, etc) up to 4.4 GB, but will not allow a pure data file to be that size. "Incompatible format" is th error message...
Any ideas much appreciated...
