dvd-r 0r dvd+r help

looking for some advice, currrently have a dvd burner ,and using
dvd-r for back ups and dv recordings , but have been told dvd+r are the new format for dvd copying , if so will i still be able to burn to dvd+r with my burner . or do i need a new burner.
(hope not) . flapping chris needing your help . cheers

But will my dvd burner burn to the new dvd+r formats ,as it does the dvd-r ,hope i dont come across as to dim , but every shop i get advice from tells me something different , hope this is the right place for a correct answer ,cheer's again amoda1

Sorry, but you will not be able to burn to dvd+r discs. I have a DVD+R burner and can not burn to DVD-R, they are simply a different format.
