OpenDML is simply the standard for AVI files (AVI 2.0), there's nothing you need to "turn on" or make active.

I think I would use tsMuxerGui to split a piece off. Then try your conversion. I'm curious why you are doing HD xvid. Is there a special reason?

          tmuxer

used that to split the file from video and audio , the files i have my sons when he was little try to get best picture using xvid but to 4gig but that open dml stops it and so i dont waste space on dvd and it streams better. if anyone has an idea what i am doing wrong please help using VirtualDubMod create the xvid but i want opendml so it is bigger than 2 gig

For HD xvid I've had good luck with this converter:
            Quick AVI Creator

It's a bit quirky. By default it leaves the frame size the same as the input. It tends to suggest a bit rate way too low. When you hit Process Video in the menu and it pops up a dialog with the bit rate filled in, for HD xvid I would increase it to about 4000 kbit.

It's a bit slow. But I've had no problems playing HD xvid on my WD HDTV for USB player.

If it won't input .m2ts then mux it to .mkv first. Afa the OpenDML stuff I've heard about file size limit etc. but I've never deliberately tried to produce it. Give QAC a shot and see how it goes.

edit: note that QAC does not seem to be maintained anymore. But I have been able to substitute newer versions of xvid library and xvid_encraw.exe with no ill effects. It's not right for everything but if it completes the processing then I don't recall any issues playing the output file.
