Split 1 DVD into 2 DVD+R's

After searching and searching for a way to make a complete 1:1 backup of my commercial DVD's it was clear to me that my 4.7GB DVD+R's were not big enough for most jobs. The reality is that most Commercial DVD's are 2-layered and can store upto 9GB of data. SO the big question is how do you SPLIT a single Commercial DVD (upto 9GB) into 2 DVD+R's (each 4.7GB)??
