Can IFO's and VOB's be combiled for one disk recording?

    Hi,

I'm trying to backup "The Right Stuff" which is 3:18 in length and is on a double sided disk.

I used DVD Decrypter which treats each side of the disk as a separate movie thus with separate IFO files, etc.

DVD2one only recognizes one group of files. I tried renaming the files, but I was sure that wouldn't work - and it didn't.

I ran the files through IFOedit, but there doesn't seen to be a utility which COMBINES the two groups of files.

Is there any way to combine the files from the two sides of the disk so I can make a single disk copy through DVD2one?

I'm learning and thanks in advance for your assistance.

    DVD2ONE and IfoEdit Solution

The Solution is actually very easy once you know what to do. Here is the steps I use:
    1. rip side A to a folder (side A)
    2. rip side B to a folder (side B)
-- When Ripping, just rip the movie,
    not the extras.

    3. Look at the last vob in the Side A
    folder (ex. VTS_01_3.vob)
    4. Rename the side B vobs to start at
    the next vob (ex VTS_01_04.vob)

Now you should have all the vobs in order (delete the ifo files, they are all wrong now)

    5. Open IFO Edit and Click Create IFOs, then select the first vob in the series.
-- IFO Edit will Create the proper IFO
files for the movie and you can now
    open the movie in DVD2ONE

    7. Use DVD2ONE and create a new set of smaller vob files and info for them.

    8. Burn as usual

      Hello,

I have used your method, but with it I lose the chapters. (I believe that they are in the Ifo File)
Is there something to do to have them?

      Thank you

I have been having hit and miss results with the method above.
Robin Hood worked fine, Goodfellas did not. Not sure if the method works as good as it had the first few times i used it

            Hello,

For the first link, a login / password is needed, but I have none.
For the second link, is it always true that a cell is equal to a new chapter?

            Thank you
