    Pioneer 105 problems

    DVD writer problems

I have just bought a new Pioneer 105 dvd writer and i am using the latest Nero and also Instant cd/dvd software.

I am trying to archive my mp3's and music videos onto dvd so i can have a back up incae the unthinkable happens (AGAIN).

I write my dvd and it says it's fine, check it out on windows explorer and everything is there but when i try to access anything beyond a certain point it says that it can't find it. I have also tried it on a home dvd player which also sees the files on the disc but can't access them. I have written about ten discs and don't want to waste anymore.

Things is that the cut off point seems to be about the size of a cd - about 11 mp3 albums or 16 music videos - this seems a bit of a coincidence.

Can anyone please help - i have just spent £200 on this drive and not had one good disk off it yet.

    I am using windows XP.

    Thank you.

"I have written about ten discs and don't want to waste anymore."

Until you resolve your dilemma, it would be far less costly to use a rewritable DVD...
