Region 2 to Region 1 DVD backups?

Hi, i'm a newbie and I have a few region 2 dvd's that I would like to watch on my region 1 player. I've been reading a lot about burning but I haven't found this question answered: Is it possible to remove the region encoding when backing them up on a DVD+R?

You can change and/or eliminate ("region free") region identification when using DVDDecrypter to rip the DVD to your hard drive...

Ok, I downloaded DVDDecryptor and i'm looking through the options. Is it the one that says "Remove macrovision protection"?
