I know I must be doing somethng really stupid and posting this is a last resort. I've read all the guides and searched all the forums.
I use DVD Decryptor to rip all of the files from CaddyShack to my hard drive. Now it seems to me at this point I should be able to watch the movie bye clicking on VIDEO_TS.IFO using WinDVD (this is what I do on all the home movies that I've got on the hard drive). But no - WinDVD comes up but does not play the movie.
So now I open VIDEO_TS.IFO with ifoedit and get VTS sectors and some of the files get updated. Still can't play by clicking on VIDEO_TS.IFO.
So I proceed anyway following the guide to get rid of foreign language subtitles (there are no foreign language menus) and all seems to go well. Still can't play by clicking on VIDEO_TS.IFO though.
But now the files are small enough to fit on a DVD so I think great I'll burn it and see what happens. Being the cautious sort I of course attempt an RW first. Using RecordNow I drag the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and say WRITE. Immediately I get an error that the disk is probably dirty. I try my home movies to the same disk an NO it is not dirty - they work fine.
So I must be missing something here.
Firstly should I be able to plan the VIDEO_TS.IFO (all the files are in that directory).
Secondly, any ideas on why RecordNow would act so strange using these files while it works fine on others.
Thirdly, what am I doing wrong? I really have read the guides and followed them to the letter.
Thanks, exerbes
