    DVD compliance

I was wondering, do DVD's have complience like CDR's?

for example, to create a VCD, it has to be a CBR of 1150KBPs, 44.1KHz audio 224KBPS bitrate, 352*288 res etc... and if the movie is < 80 mins, it can be burned on a CD

what about DVD's? do they have a rule or standard when recording DVD's? do they have a particular CBR like VCD's? or can it be any bitrate up to 4.3GB of audio/video?

    thanks

Max bitrate is 9800kBit/s. That includes all audio-tracks. Bitrate may be constant or variable.
