Backup DVD in less than one hour

I use a new DVD backup software ImTOO DVD Ripper to backup my DVD movies. I found it on download.com (Why cannot find it on digital digest?). When I back DVD to DivX, the encoding speed is almost two times of playback speed. I don't have to wait for so long time. But notice, if want to reach the best speed, 100% CPU is used, that means you cannot do other things when you backup. Those pepperboxes can use it! And the image effect is very OK.

"Why cannot find it on digital digest?"

I guess you didn't look hard enough. It's been listed at the DVD Digest site (part of Digital Digest) since 7/25...

Well, let me put it this way... Winzip can compress files much faster than say, Winrar. However the compression is (most of the time), better in Winrar than in Winzip. Moreover, this IMToo does not have filter plugins or deinterlace filters that you can manually set or choose. I rest my case...

I have questions about this product... first I kept getting an MPEG2codec (sp?) error, and it also wanted to load an adaptec ASPI driver, is this safe or does it just mean mine is outdated?

2nd did anyone else happen to notice that much of the interface (output settings) looks a lot like DVDx 2?

just my 2 cents.. if I can backup in less than 1 hr I'd like to try it out, but I keep getting these errors and perhaps it's cuz I canceled the ASPI install... Thoughts?

          To c_coolGuy

With everything problematic that you've described, I'd stick with what you've been using until now - especially if the ASPI driver you already have installed has not caused you any difficulties with your ripping and burning software...
