Where can I DMA setting in Win XP (home edn)

I want upgrage the firmware on my Sony DRU510A to 1.0c, in the instructions it says to make sure DMA setting is disabled, and I can't seem to find it anywhere in Win XP to check it.

Also it say to uninstall any packet writing software like DLA, DirectCD, both of which I don't have, But is RecordNow DX, Nero, DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink considered to be Packet writing software?
