    Unusual Problem with DVDR985

    Hello all,

I just got a new Philips DVDR985 a few weeks ago and it was working fine out of the box but then the strangest thing started happening. It'll work great for a while and then it will shut off during playback and recording. No warning and no reason given. I ran a diagnostic on it and it passed. I asked Philips tech advise and they told me to unplug it and plug it back into a different outlet. That didn't help. I tried a couple other things with no avail. I was hoping that someone could offer any other suggestions that I might be over looking. Otherwise I will have to take it to a repair center or ship it.

I hope someone can offer some kind of advise.

    thanks in advance

"Otherwise I will have to take it to a repair center or ship it."

If you've only had it for "a few weeks", return it and insist on a new replacement...

I'm having the same issue I called up tech support but they told me to shipped to their repair shop. Not sure I want to do that because I'm afraid they will create other problems.
Sure not worth the $ I paid for it.
      Good Luck.
