    DVD backup playing issue.

    Hello.

recently i've backed up several dvd's into a single dvd+rw, (each
    dvd into a seperate dvd+rw ofcourse... ;P).

while playing them on my pioneer dv-525... it plays kewl
for some minutes... and then without notice, the sound gets
"shutterd"... the video continues flawlessly and the sound sounds
    like its "broken"...

if i turn off and on my dvd player again... the same segment
which once was shutterd is now playing nicely... (ie: its not
the dvdr itself i assume). some times it returns on other segments
    and sometimes not.

i played 1 movie with no interuption at all... and on the next
movie it just shutterd 3 mins in the movie... after restarting the
player it happend 20 mins inside the film, on the 3rd attempt
    it didnt happen.

it happends on some dvd's and sometimes not... both with AC3
    or DTS soundtracks...

im using lg gsa-4040b dvdr, p4 2.4, 512ddr and winxp pro.
i tried using nero 6.0.0.15, clone dvd, dvdit and ripped the dvd's
using dvddcrypter. the media was a memorex dvd+rw (x2.4).

    any suggestions?
    thanks.

Have you tried using just regular DVD+R (not +RW)

A lot of DVD players have compatability problems with the -RW and +RW media. (I believe it is because of lower reflectivity of the media)

If using just he +R media doesn't work check with the Pioneer's documentation on the player to see if it lists the compatablities. (If it doesn't, which is probably the case, check the web. There's lots of lists compiled with different players and their compatabilities).

I would use just the wRitable media not the ReWritable media simply for the cost savings.

    Hope this helps

"while playing them on my pioneer dv-525..."

      1) Do the ORIGINAL DVDs exhibit this same behaviour on this same player?

      2) Have you tried playing your burned DVD on any other players (that you KNOW can playback DVD+RWs)? If so, did it exhibit this same behaviour?

Make sure 2 dvd players on your computer are not playing the movie at the same time.Sometimes the default one kicks in without u knowing.

          To melios69

The pioneer dv-525 is a standalone DVD player...
