Has anyone burned DVD+R using Plextor PX-708A burner?

    Hi,

Has anyone successfully burned DVD Video to a DVD +R disc on the new Plextor PX-708A burner?

If so what make and speed and reference number +R disc did you use and which burning software and version did you use?

I (and some others) are having difficulty burning DVD +R discs on this drive.

    Many thanks

    Nosmo.

There is a lot of disscussion on the Plex 708A here:

Goto "International Chat: Hardware related", "Plextor subForum"

    You'll see it there.

BTW, I have one and have only used 2 typs of media:

    FujiFilm DVD+R - RicohJPNR00
This media works fine, it is 2.4X (standard for DVD+R)

    Memorex DVD-R - Prodiscg02
This media is "bad" on the Plex 708A. I tried 2X and 1X, and some files burned on a Data DVD are unreadable on my
    Plex 708A,
    Toshiba 1402 DVD-ROM,
    Toshiba 1202 DVD-ROM

kypumper Hello, and thanks for your tip.

I used that technique and 1. revived one disc which now plays without sound. I must have done something wrong at the recode stage. 2. One disc now works properly. The others doggedly refuse to close on one pretext or other.

        Live and learn!

            melios69 hello,

            Thank you for your post.

Will you please give me the:
            1. Make and model and firmware version of your burner
            2. Name and version of your software
            3. The actual manufacturer's name of the TDK discs
and confirm that you can reliably burn on the +R discs you mention.

This would help me very much.

            Nosmo
