Switched from Nero 5.5.10 to Recordnow Max 4.10....

I was experiencing freezing and glitches on dvds when recording with Nero 5.5.10. Thinking it "might" be my dvd burning software, I decided to try recordnow max. It burned successfully but neither of my standalone players will recognize the burned dvd. I am wondering if I burned it properly. Anyone else use recordnow Max and would be willing to give me a setp-by-step guide to burning a dvd?

    Thanks!

Hae a look at my guide at http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/userguides.htm

It is for Record Now Max 4.50, but should be similar to the version you have in terms of settings.

      Still having skipping issues.....

I tried burnng with RecordNow Max and I am burning on Maxell oems which are suppose to be good dvds.

The weird thing is it plays fine from the hard drive and/or the hard disk so the burn process is not the problem. They start skipping in my standalone within the first 20 mins and sometimes won't play at all. Any ideas?

Right, generally you will find that most things will play from your hard drive. You need to check out whether or not this is a problem relating to your standalone. Go to www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php to ascertain if it is the standalone.

We started burning dvds about 1 yr ago and they used to work perfectly in the standalones. This problem just started about 1 month ago. We did not change any burning software or anything else so I can not figure out what is wrong.

I burned Bionicles The Movie for my son last week and it burned perfectly. I then tried to burn In-Laws and Hollywood Homicide and they start skipping almost immediately. I used the same exact burning software and dvds so that leaves me even more mystified.

Could the laser on the dvd burner need cleaned or maybe the standalones need cleaned?
