    Too slow reading from source??

I'm using a 4x LiteOn DVD-+R but can't seem to record at more than 2x. When running a test with nero 6 it says something like Too slow reading from source, therefore can only run at 2x. Is my hard drive too slow??

I too had the same problems using Nero 6 on a Sony DRU-510A DVD burner. Kept saying my hard disk was too slow, I would sometimes end up with coasters half way through the burn if i specified a write speed of 4X. Chances are, you will also get a few "Calibration Errors" when Nero starts burning at 1% of the DVD.

The cure for me at least, was to change my DVD media. I used to use DATAWRITE (ADVDINFO: W.P...PRINCO.) media as it was quite cheap compared to many other brands but if you count the cost of coasters and wasted time it turns out quite expensive. Since changing my media to DATASAFE RITEK (ADVDINFO: .RITEKG..04) I get no errors or coasters when i've written at 4X.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, Ive since switched on DMA mode on my DVD-R and that seems to have sorted the problem. I'll try the media you have mentioned as I'm still trying to find the right kind for video dvd's.
