    Pioneer 106RD DVDRW

    Hi im hoping someone can help. I've just upgraded my Pioneer 104 DVDRW with a Pioneer 106RD DVDRW. Now the porblem is, is that Nero and prasimi Primo dont see the drive????

    Its got the latest firmware etc.......

    Any Ideas???

    It's possible the master/slave jumper on your new drive is different to the old drive.
    e.g. If you've got a CD or DVD-rom drive on the same IDE cable, as a "slave", and the 104 was "master", then if the new drive is also "slave", both drives will not be seen by the PC. Compare the two, and change if necessary.

      It depends on whether windows can actually see the drive or not.
      Does it exist in my computer?
      If it does then you probably just need a software upgrade. Earlier versions of Nero and Prassi don't support the drive.
      I think Nero 5.5.1.0 an onwards supports the 106, but Nero 6 is available now anyway.

      If it doesn't exist in my computer then this is a detection problem and following DNAS advice may cure it. if it doesn't and yout sure you have the drive set up and connected right then try ununstalling the controller it is connected to form device manager.

      This will force windows to redetect the drive.
