newbie question

. What is the difference in the types of media. Ok I know the diff between R and RW but then there are DVD-R and DVD+R. My system only likes +R. Why? I have a Memorex 2.4X writer and I use COPYTODVD with DVDSHRINK2.3. I tried to used DVDEncrypter with bad results and tried the new beta DVDSHRINK that didn't work. I have a number of DVD titles that WILL NOT SHRINK with DVDSHRINK (Chocolat, Conan, Hannibal to name a few) and was hoping to work around. Cleaning them doesn't help. Its the old Cyclic Redundancy Error.

As for the + or - thing well some media out there are either +- or one or the other and burners are the same. So + burners will only accept + media. Does that help at all or just telling you what you already know

Exactly! Have you tried to polish the disks with a little toothpaste?

i've tried to us dvd shrink 3.0 and it didn't work, so i downloaded shrink 2.3 and it's coming us with an error of CDvdCSS;;Read railed!, reason unknown. can someone please help me
