Hi Guys,
I am currently having problems reading written DVD media using a Pioneer 106D with both v1.06 and v1.07 firmware @ 4x.
I am running Windows XP SP1 on a P4 2.6 ghz with 1024 mb PC3200 kingmax memory. I know the PC is not having problems sending data to the dvd media as buffer levels are constantly up from 90-95%.
I am writing video files to "Princo A Grade 4X media" serial beginning with 4x using Nero Burning Rom v6.0.0.11.
When running transfer speed tests using Nero CD-DVD Speed I get error from both my Pioneer DVD-105 and Pioneer DVR-106.
The following read error from the DVD-105 based on the DVR-106 v1.06 firmware burnt media.
The following read error from the DVR-106 based on the DVR-106 v1.06 firmware burnt media.
*Note the same error was generated on the v1.07 firmware (both read/write).*
The following read error from the DVD-105 based on the DVR-106 v1.07 firmware burnt media.
As you can see upgrading to v1.07 firmware has made the read worse for the DVD-ROM drive. The results were a tad better (after the firmware upgrade) for the DVR-106 to read although it did generated the same error.
When playing these's dvd off the PC drives, it has a very hard time with playback, even on settop players, they both generated digital distortion and then just stop playback (ack!).
If anybody has some sort of information that maybe helpful to me, please I'd love to here it. I've wasted two spindles on this DVR-106D. What a waste of money...
Thanks,
dvine
