    Pioneer 105/106 with Nero

I had a pioneer 105 that worked ok writing dvd-r and dvd-rw but would not write cdr or cdrw. This was using nero version 5.5.10.50 at first when I had the writer it would work with cdr and cdrw and erasing cdrw's but after a time it would just start and then lock up. I bought the writer from Ebuyer and I returned it thinking it was faulty they replaced it with a 106 and I get exactly the same with that . Anybody got any ideas.

I have a 105, and have used nero 5.5 several different versions, and nero 6 to burn ~120 dvd's and ~40 cd's without any problems. I only use quality media, maybe you should try another cdr media.
        Good luck,
        Alan

What sort of configuration do you have your drive in?
Is it a master or a slave and are ther any other devices on the same IDE channel.

Also is your IDE controller set to DMA or PIO?
Do you have any other burning software installed on your system?

DVD writer is on the same channel as a hard drive hard drive linked as master writer as slave and there don't seem to be any setting for the onboard controller on the mobo . The CD rom setting for the dvdwriter is DMA in the system settings but I don't know where PIO is.

            Thanks . JohnE
