Nec 1300a

I recently purchased and installed a Nec 1300a. I can play dvds with it and read medias OK. However, i cannot copy to cd-rs (of unknown brands) through cd copy. (yes i have 2 drives) It says it cannot read the media and it tells me that i either have to clean the surface, try another disk or use a lower writting speed. Well either way the disk i was trying is worthless now. Anyone have any ideas i have Firmware 1.09 and im using NTI burning software

Could it be my other drive.....

I purchased a nec 1300a and have not downloaded any firmware. I use nero to burn cd-r with no problems. I am using cheap media for cd's. Try nero and see what happens....Good Luck
