Compatible media for Lite-on 811s

Hi

I just bought a Pacific Digital (Lite-on) 811s 8x drive. I am not sure which media to buy to backup movies. Can people just list the names of media that they have had success with on this drive? Any recommendations on which FW to use?

Ritek (All formats) has proven to be of consistently good quality for all burners...

I do not have any problems whit this hardware.

i do not have the 811, but the 4 speed 451

because the specifications of the 8x and 451 are the same, except the 811 can burn ONLY DVD+R whit 8 speed, the rest is identical.

I use alot media, even the cheap stuff from some discounts.
I didn't got any cousters yet, and burned over 50 dvd's whit this drive allready....

problem is, how long will the DVD media hold, that i cant tell ya

If you want worry-free top quality burns on DVD-R, get TY or Maxell. Both are made in Japan and easy to find.

I can tell you what NOT to use with the 811s. I got some generic(yeah I know) 4x DVD-Rs from allmediaoutlet.com and have had problem after problem burning(even at 1x) since flashing to HS0K firmware. If I switch to a Fuji 4x +RW disc it works flawlessly at 4x.
