DVD-RAM disks

Has anyone here had success using this unit to write video on DVD-RAM disks? If so, how compatible is it with other DVD-RAM writing/reading equipment?

I have a Panasonic DMR-E80H which I want to use to edit disks written by the LG4040.

I had thought that I was posting the above message to a thread about the LG4040 recorder. That is the unit I was speaking of.
