    VOB/IFO Problem

I have noticed that any VOB files that I have downloaded or ripped (using /clone) will not playback from my HD using WinDVD prompting "No Valid Drive/Disk".

If I attempt to burn these files using Clone it prompts "No Valid DVD Files In This Folder" This is either from a VIDEO_TS folder that contains the VOB's IFO's etc or a downloaded movie that contains the VOB's

My writer is an Optowrite DD0203

Any help in thicko langauge would be much appreciated

    Cheers

Are you ripping from your dvd burner? The reason I ask is because I have the optorite DD0203 and also use windvd. I have no problems. Have you gone to the folder and checked to make sure the files are actually there?

"I have noticed that any VOB files that I have downloaded or ripped (using /clone) will not playback from my HD using WinDVD prompting "No Valid Drive/Disk"."

In WinDVD, when you click on the dropdown arrow at the top on the left side, select "Open File" and navigate to where you VOB file is and it should open and play the file.

"would you try and uninstall Windvd clone etc & try again?"

I was referring to WinDVD the "Software" DVD player created by "InterVideo". WinDVD Clone is a different application isn't it?

Sorry my reply was a bit confusing, yes I have tried the drop down box on Intervideo WinDVD and nothing happened. I meant would you try to uninstall all software that is causing problems (WinDVD & Clone) & re-try?

Use DVDshrink to rip or use DVDdecrypter, in file mode with all files selected. Open windvd and choose "play from folder" browse to your VIDEO_TS folder and highlight the VIDEO_TS folder, not any of the files. This should play for you.

Uninstalled WinDVD & Clone 1.2.8.4 & re-nstalled Clone. I tried to burn a movie I had downloaded and it told me it was 100% complete, when I tested it in my DVD player it got to 12 mins and.....that's it. It only burn't part of the movie.

                    Any Ideas?

Try to play it on your computer and see if it plays. You can also check the dvd to see if their are any errors on it or the media. I use dvdinfopro www.dvdinfopro.com. Not sure but I think nero 6 has an error checker in it.

I have the Optorite DD0203 also and rip from my burner and have not had any probs like this. But I don't use Clone, I use anyDVD and DVD2One. I've never had a problem with this combo. Burning on the other hand, I have a problem with the burner any time I try to burn pretty much anything but Fuji's at 4x.

I use Decrypter and Shrink and burn with Nero and have had 100 percent sucess. Does not take very long either.

I use the same setup. Dvdshrink, Dvddecrypter if Dvdshrink fails for some reason which isn't often, and nero 6 to burn.
