how many episodes on one disc?

Im sorry if this has been discussed to death before but I have searched and I couldnt find anything close enough.

Basically I've got several seasons of simpsons episodes, about 22 in each season. They are each about 20mins long and each file is 140MB in DivX avi format (DivX 3 Low-Motion?)
Right. my question. what would be the best way of putting these onto dvd?
preferably I would like 1 or 2 discs per season. Should I put them all into one huge file and then have chapters or is there a way of doing seperate files.

thanks for any help you can give, and sorry again if this has been posted before

Convert the avi files to mpeg1 or 2. Depending on your source I would use 352x240 or 1/2 D1 (352x480/576). You can use TMPGenc Plus or Mainconcept ( I prefer mainconcept for it's speed) to convert. Load your avi files using "batch mode". After all the files are loaded convert them. I then use TMPGenc Dvd Author for menu etc. Open TMPGenc dvd author and click "create new project". Add your first file. Click "add new track" (not add file) and add your 2nd file, repeat untill all the files are added. In the "create menu" window under "firstplay action"tab choose "display main menu. This will allow you to choose which video you want to play after you insert your dvd.
