Problem with my NEC ND 1300a

I recently bought new dvd-r disc's and when I try to burn I get this error message:

Stomp RecordNow MAX
Image Job Untitled1 Terminated with errors.
Error -10 at Sector 16 - Command:2A Sense:05 ASC:30 ASCQ:05

It works with different dvd-r's so I guess its firmware related?

anyway here is my specs for the DVD

DVD_RW ND-1300A
firmware 1.06

I'm confused over what firmware to pick for my NEC I'm not that great with computers. so if you could help me it would be great.

Questions:
1. Do you all think this is firmware related?

2. if so can you link me to a website that has this firmware upgrade to download?

3. Is this firmware hard to install?

What you're saying defies logic. It is more likely that since, "It works with different dvd-r's", the problem lies with your present (new) blank DVD-Rs...
