Any experince with burning downloaded movies to a dvd?

I was wondering.... I have alot of XVID and DIVX movies, which i could burn down on a dvd, so that i could play it on my dvd-player!
But how is the quality? Is this the best i can do with a downloaded file as a dvd? I mean is there a better way or a better movie type?

To the best of my knowledge and experience. The quality of XVID is uncomperable to any other codec. DivX is also good for the average user. My friends however prefer XVID over DivX. Unless of course you would prefer to convert it to a file format like AVI, ASF, or WMV. So go ahead and bUrN.
