how to Backup a defective dvd?

    Hi,

I bought the The Little Rascals DVD vol. 9&10.
While playing(Power DVD and home DVD player), it's locks up toward the end of the last movie clip.

I tried using DVD Shrink and it too locks up
during the analysis at the very same point.

Is there no way to backup this dvd and get
rid of the bad frames or bad point?

I also tried DVD Decryptor but it just shows
reads errors. I guess the software must check
    the entire DVD.

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Have you tried cleaning the DVD?

      cleaning did not help

      Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Cleaning the dvd did not help.
I took one step further and purchased a 2nd dvd of
      the same title.

It locks up at the same point! either I have really
bad luck or there was a bad batch of these. this is really
      annoying.

That's a pity. I have Vols. 1and 2 and they evoked very fond memories...

          Thanks again for your reply.

I am hoping to get a replacement that actually works.
bad mastering or cheap dvd's I guess. the top label was
even missing some of the protective coating.

The original rascals are the best!
