1st Computer and attempt to burn DVD's please help!

I just purchased a HP a520n computer with RecordNOW and Intervideo WINDVD. Are either of these capable of burning a DVD? I need instructions for burning DVD's and any software that may be needed. Please help!

Windvd is for playing dvds on your computer. Start with Dvdshrink to rip (and compress if necessary) a dvd to your hard drive. I use Nero 6 to burn.

I was able to use DVD Shrink, but I have INterVideo Win DVD and I can't get it to open the files???? Is Nero free?

Open Windvd and click navigate. Choose open play from folder, navigate to your VIDEO_TS folder, highlight it and play. Nero is a 30 trial version.
