    Skiping half way through DVD

    Hi,

I just got Shrink and tried to copy a 2 hour movie. It seemed fine until I got half way through the film. It then started to skip and eventually stop on a frame. I lowered the custom ratio to the lowest setting in "re-authoring" as well as removed all the extra material and it worked fine except that the quality was horrible. I am using Memorex DVD-Rs and burning at 2x. I am wondering how to avoid this skipping without loosing quality. Thank you!

The "skipping" has nothing to do with DVD Shrink...

Try cleaning the DVD and running a lens cleaner disc in your drive?
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

It's a classic case of your player not liking the (cheap?) blanks that you're using.

When you bring the bitrate right down (low quality) then the player has less data to read from the disc and it can cope better.

Try some Ritek G04 blanks - they're very reliable.
