small problem I am running into

Ok im having a problem now that i cant figure out
just wondering if yall had any thoughts on the matter.

Ok when i try to burn a dvd with nero6 it starts the lead in and soon as the
burning starts the buffer level jumps fro 95%, 45% to 20% and back to 95%
ever second or so until the burn is done
The burn works okay but what used to take 15 mins to burn is now taking 40 minutes.
I tried uninstalling Nero and re-installing it, same thing.
i uninstalled my Sony DRU-530A and reinstalled that and, same thing.

And also i was using dvdshrink to rip tommy boy and it got to 27 seconds left twice and DVD Shrink froze.

Sounds like you previously had 4X burnable DVDs and, perhaps, now have 2X burnable DVDs...

      To jmet:

Or, in addition to what setarip stated, perhaps you bought some RW media which only burns at 1X and would account for the increased burning time.

Mayby Nero is conflicting with another program and resulting in loss of buffer underun.

        or

mayby ur harddrive needs defrag or is simply not reading fast enough to keep up.

        their r many possibilities!!

jmet - You mentioned you were using Nero6. The early versions of Nero 6 are reported to be very buggie. You may want to upgrade Nero the latest version, and check that your burner is in DMA mode not PIO.
