    ripping a camcorder dvd

    Hello everyone,

Has anyone found any software that will rip a DVD-r (3.5inch) made from a hitachi or sony DVD camcorder. I've tried DVD shrink as well ad decryptor but with no luck.

    Thanks all.

try coping the files from the DVD-r to the hard drive and open them with Shrink by using 'OpenFiles'

      To jadvd:

Unless the camcorder captures directly to DVD file format, (.VOB)-I don't believe this is the case-then you will have to determine what the video format is (AVI, mpeg). Also, there is no need to use DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink unless you need to remove copy protection and or compress your project.

Thanks for the help folks, but here is more information:

The information is actually stored as a .VOB file. I've tried just copying it to my hard drive but with no luck. I've also tried starting the movie with my dvd player software and then trying to have dvd shrink analyze it but for some reason dvd shrink gets stuck pretty quickly.

        Any other suggestions?

Does the camcorder have a software program that was bundled with it? Also, what type of inputs does the camcorder have? (USB, Firewire)
