    dvdr vs. dvdrw

I originally bought the 123 DVD program, no good. It would copy the DVD to my hard drive, but couldn't find my DVD burner. All their support said was go find the firmware and re-install. DIDN'T HELP.

So while I was looking for help I happen to find the DVD Shrink & the DVD Decrypter--works great!!!! EXCEPT...

when i go to burn the dvd to the new dvd it won't work on just a DVD +R only on the DVD+RW. I have no idea what I have done or how to get it to change. Any suggestions?

It sounds as if you have a media compatibility problem. Are you saying that your "Burner" will only work with +RW media, or that your "Standalone" player won't recognize the DVD+R? Find out what particular type (format) of media is compatible with both your burner and your standalone drive.

      .... and then ....

.. look up www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters to check your brand of media is ok for your burner.
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

I do appreciate the help that all of you nice folks have given me, but it still isn't answering my question.

My DVD burner will burn all brands. I have already done that--both DVD/RW and DVD/R. My standalone DVD player will play both as well.

IT IS WITH DVD SHRINK that I am running into problems. I can't seem to get it to burn to a DVD/R disk. Is there a tab that I am missing or something?

          THANKS for all your help
