Removing subtitles when making my backups?

I am having a problem with the subtitles being on my movies after I back them up. How can I remove them for sure? I have tried it all. Maybe I am doing it wrong but I cant find any info to tell me for sure! Dvdshrink has been pleasent aside from this poroblm. Thanks for your help ahead of time!!!!

You should be able to turn off the subtitles via the remote control for your standalone player.
