Can I copy a DVD Shrink copy?

I have got DVD Shrink, the best program that I have used so far, but I do have one issue, can I copy a DVD Shrink copy, as I keep getting errors when I try to copy them from the copy. If you get what I mean.

Do you mean a "Disc-to-disc" copy? This can easily be accomplished with a burning application such as Nero.

Perhaps this is a problem with the brand/type of media that you are using.

I am doing this by disc to disc and also using Nero Burning ROM 6 to do the copy with. I am using Ritek GO4 4z DVD-R to copy with as well.

Any other ideas?

Have you tested the original shrunken files with a software player such as "WinDVD" or "PowerDVD"?

All the files work fine, when I have made the orginal copy it all works fine in any computer of home DVD player, but it won't copy the copy, that is what I find strange I am just wondering if I can't copy a copy.

Why would you want more than one copy of an ORIGINAL DVD that you own?

I want more than one copy of my own, as my two children have a habit of not treating my DVDs or theres for that matter with any respect, so I make copies of them to keep them from destroying the originals!
I can make copies of copies using other software but not with DVD Shrink which is the program I prefere and would like to use.

You can always make additional copies from the originals, on an as needed basis - or you can more quickly make additional copies from the hard drive package created by DVD Shrink...

To actually help you with your question of how to copy the copy...I would suggest using DVDDecryptor to make an ISO out of the copy and then burn the ISO. See if that works for you.

Maybe the problem Shrink is having is that you have already compressed it and maybe it's getting errors trying to compress it again.

That is unlikely as it is fairly common to shrink and already compressed project a second time. I've done this several times without an issue.

Then there must be something that Shrink puts into the copy that tells the program when a copy is attempting to be copied. Do you think this could be the case? If so I think it's an odd thing to do considering that this program's main purpose is to bypass copy guards.

why would you use dvdshrink again on the copy?

just copy the entire shrunk dvd on hard disk, and use the files for the second duplicate.


to answer your question: you can copy a dvdshrink copy, but you can not shrink a dvdshrink copy.

Well that would make better sense. You could also just use DVDDecrypter to make an ISO of it and burn that. Didn't even think of that.
