Arent dual layer burners going to make the single layer burners obsolete? Thats the only reason I think I should go with Dual layer.
Is this a good burner?

I don't know if "obsolete" is the word...certainly you can get alot more data on dual layer media but the 2.4X burn speeds right now are really slow. I'm holding out on dual layer until the technology matures a little and burn speeds go up and prices come down but, by then, we'll probably be looking at Blu-ray or HD-DVD which are next-generation technologies due out in another year or two. But the NEC is a good burner and, if you want to pull the trigger, go ahead...I'm sure you'll be happy with it. As for the enclosure, you're on your own...I assume it'll be OK as long as its compatible with the NEC...if it isn't return it.Comment
