Lg-gsa-4040b A106

My Gateway computer came with the LG. 4040b +- burner and A106 firmware installed. I have search everywhere for information on this firmware to include this forum, LGE website, gateways website and the DB website to see what's the next available update, LGE website list the A104 firmware but not A106. I have not had any problems with burning / backing up anything thus far although I have never tried to back-up at 4x speed because of the recommendations I have read from poster on this forum about getting good quality results by burning at a lower rate/speed, time is really not and issue but I am curious about this firmware version. I don't want to just update in the blind to a later version because it's possible I may already have the latest version but labeled as A106 because its being package with the Gateway computer. Bollocks, I am now finally burning at 4X after much searching for cheap media (PRINCO) - with perfect results.

Stick with what you have got mate, I have learnt from over 1000 DVD-r's that it is solely the media that determines the speed. I think I have only updated my burner to the A104 firmware from the official site, watch out though as I have found that in some languages the english letter d comes before b !! If you know whAT i MEAN..
