    DVD writer advice please

I have loads of family home movies on video which I want to put onto DVD. I'm in England and my relatives are in the US. I need to buy a DVD writer that will record in Region 0 or region free.

Is there a good DVD writer that will do this?

Home movies have no region but UK TV standard is PAL US is NTSC so providing the TV in the US will play PAL you should have no probs.Otherwise you will have to convert to NTSC.None of this is down to the writer its software.I think all programs used to put on to DVD allow to record in either format.I use Sonic Mydvd and it gives both options.

I would agree that this does not depend on the DVD writer but the software you use to encode the format b4 burning...

I have come across these options many times on diferent pieces of software.

Nerovision Express for instance will allow you to decide which format PAL/NTSC amongst presets for a zillion countries.

About the dvd region 0, Again you dont need a particular drive, just the use of some cunning tactics, nero 6 (which I am familiar with)and DVD shrink 3.2

I can explain how if you are interested.
