    Problems with +R discs

Using a Sony DRU 510a to copy films. Got some printable -R discs and had a few duds, so bought a batch of printable +R discs. Copy works fine, but disc is not recognised either in Computer or DVD player, although a directory listing shows the correct files present. Is this a problem with +R discs??

To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:

I ordered 100 Ritek/Ridata +4x with media ID RICOHJPNRO1 from supermediastore. Received them in the mail today but the media ID was Ritek R03 rev. 02h. (DVDINFOPRO v3.07)

Haven't tried them yet, so I don't know if they will work with my LG GSA 4040B but all the feed back I have read so far show this to be good media (two of the feed backs pertain to the 4040B Burner itself).

However as I understand it, if I do a test burn on one of these disk I can't send them back even though they have a 60 day return if not completely satisfied. Everything must be returned in a resellable condition, so if I test one that void the return.

I have never used this brand of media so I really don't know if the former will work either but every disk I tried so far has worked without error, sony, maxwell and memorex + and -. Any Suggestions? Thanks Too-Cool

              find this in another forum:
Ritek was quite good, in fact I found LiteOn was shipping it as the sample disc with their burners. But a moderator at cdfreaks.com says Ritek's quality has gone downhill lately.

I've been able to find Fuji-branded 4X DVD+R discs for US$50 for a 50-pack, with RICOHJPNR01 internal product code. These discs burn consistently at 8X in my LiteOn and NEC burners. I use Nero CDSPEED 3.0 to verify them, and their quality has been consistently excellent.

                  @ too cool

Stick with the Ritek/RIDATA G04 -R's, with the latest FW with the 4040b you'll get great burns. Gone thru hundreds, no problems and nice read in Nero CD Speed.
