    Problems Re-Authoring w/ shrink

When I backup a whole dvd everything works. When I try to re-author and put only the movie it doesn't. I'm following this article exactly as far as I can tell.

digital, digest, dvd, divx, dvdr, dvd+r, dvd-r, rip, copy, ripping, convert, backup, back, up, shrink, xvid, software, download, news, guide, article

I'm using the newest version of DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypt.

It looks correct on the DVD. It has the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, but the dvd player just spins.

Am I missing something that is obvious? Does it have something to do with not including the menus? (When I re-author in shrink it says the menus won't function anyway)

Generic question: How does a dvd player know what file to play? Does it look for the VIDEO_TS folder and play whatever is inside? Am I missing a file that directs it to play the movie?

    Thanks for the help..

It looks for the "VIDEO_TS.IFO file that is inside the "VIDEO_TS" folder...

When you are re-author using Shrink, do you have to fix the VIDEO_TS.IFO to start playing the movie instead of going to the menus?

I might need to move this to the Shrink forum..
Wasn't sure if this is a Shrink problem or a Burning problem...

No. When you use "Re-author" mode in Shrink, it will author an entirely new set of DVD (IFO, BUP, VOB) files, but there will be no functioning menu. However, you can use the remote control for your standalone player to skip to different scenes within the film.

                Try DVDRemake, or IFO Edit.
