    NEC 2510a slow burn problem

I got an NEC 2510a about a month ago, it worked great. However lately when I go to burn a DVD (using NERO 6) it seems to be running slower than expected.

At the beginning it will say the time remaining is around 14 minutes. However it ends up taking around 25 minutes to burn the disk.

The used read buffer starts at 100% then drops down to 0. The second buffer level shoots up and down erratically between 15% and 80%. Could I have some sort of buffer problem.

    Thanks

Well there is only one solution for you.

Update nero to the latest version 6.3.1.25

        Find this here:

Nero Upgrade Center - Comparez nos produits Nero ! Mise à niveau vers la dernière version ✓ Aperçu de tous les produits Nero ✓ Caractéristiques ►Mise à niveau maintenant !

Up until this realeased version Nero 6 as been full of bugs,
still a few left but it's getting better.

        Good Things

Also make sure DMA is enabled. Your Nero is it a full version or a demo version?

After that the trial period has ended Nero can only burn at slowest speed.

HOW do you make sure that DMA is enabled?

                I tried all that.

DMA was enabled (nothing was changed), and yet, I'm still having SLOW burns.

Are there any other things I should try? This is strange because everything just happened all of a sudden.

                  Hello

If you can attach one of the Nero burning logs and one of Nero infotool, it would be great! (please erase your serial number from the burning log B4 uploading it)

Also when was the last time you updated your firmware?
                  Find updates here:

                  Thanks

Sounds as it is trying to burn at 4x at the beginning and then shifting over to 2.4x burning because it can't get enough data from your harddisk(?). Try to defrag your hard disk. Did you connect your hard disk on the same IDE cable as the burner?

You have the latest firmware installed? What brand of discs do you try to burn on? Could also try to expand the buffer in Nero.
