I have yet to burn a DVD that works

I have not yet been able to burn a DVD that plays or burns without an error. I'm using a Verbatim DVD+RW with my HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-040N burner. Here is the log from the last time I tried to burn:

The error I'm receiving had to do with Disc-at-once, which I have now disabled. I'm going to make another run at this. Should this be left on? Does anybody see anything else wrong with my setup? Thank you for your help.

From your log it appears that you have an early version of Nero. I would update that as some of the early version are reported to be very buggy. I'm not familar with the brand of disc your using but you might want to try a name brand in RW (to reduce coaster) until you get this sorted out. Also from your log "....Recorder: HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4040N, Media type: DVD+RW..." it says your burner is DVD-RW and you're using a DVD+RW. I would use a Minus RW (-RW) on my next attempt.

I did enable it, but it remains at a current state of PIO. I'm not sure why that is. I've read through all of the past posts in regards to that, and I've followed the directions given in that link, but it won't make the switch.

Also, as an update, I did burn again leaving the disc-at-once feature off, and it worked just fine. However, it couldn't verify if my burn was good or not. So I took the DVD out and put it into my DVD players, and it wouldn't work. I guess my burner got pretty hot last night, so it was barely reading regular DVDs that I've purchased. The DVDs I'm making are of home videos, and I've been using Pegasys's TMPGenc software to convert the WMV file to a MPEG2 file to the VOP, BUP, IFO files needed for the DVD. I'm now wondering if it is an issue with the software I'm using to author the DVD. I'm wondering this because this morning, after the computer had cooled off, it was able to read the disc, but it only showed the DVD files. It didn't auto play, and the when opening up the video files, the menus do not work. Does anybody recommend a good DVD authoring software? My tech guy suggested Pinnacle, but this seemed to be very expensive. Does anybody have any ideas for something between TMPGenc and Pinnacle that will do the job?
